Pros

This is a replacement for a similar tester that i misplaced somewhere. I have a few of these testers, they're so dang handy. Stiff slider jaw, but a drop of silicon just inside the slider makes it work smoothly!

Works great on 9 volt batteries. Only thing i would ask is how well the battery can sit between the testing electrodes.

Cons

The product has some testing shows inconsistent readings, non are the same, wide variations! Very inaccurate almost. Not all at accurate when compared to a fluke multimeter. The device is about 25% off, giving erroneously elevated readings! The old fa...  Read More

Tricky to place batteries to get a reading. The red slider on the side has no spring so it is very difficult to get it to sit firmly against the battery being tested. In order to hold battery while clamping, the display ends up being upside-down.

It is annoyingly difficult and clumsy to use. It amazes me this cheap but practically unusable device sells but a much more desirable quality designed and built device at a reasonable but more expensive price does not seem to exist.

Only 1. Now reads all batteries at 0. Dmm says 1. I have no idea which one--if either-- is correct.

Quality

Tester works fine however, a little difficult to hold aa batteries

I'm the one who has to keep track of all the battires in the house, this thing is what it takes.

I tested the readings with a quality voltmeter and they were within 3/100’s of a volt.

Cheap price, works okay, build quality not great.

Price

The price was right and quick, accurate digital reading

The tester was close enough for its intended purpose and especially given its cost.

Competitiveness

This is to replace a tester i got from radio shack over 20 years ago that still works, so this has some stiff competition to live up to.

A much more expensive fluke multimeter measured the same battery at 1.

A good tester puts a small load on the battery to improve accuracy because some batteries will show a normal voltage until under a load then they crater
