Highlights
Quality
The knife is very well, balanced, exceptionally well sharpened, and finished.
The knife is very sharp and looks and feels like real quality.
Dalstrong shogun series made in china, i thought its made in japan
Made it about 9 months before the plastic piece that holds the blade in place snapped in half.
Price
Id recommend this knife to anyone who is new to the industry and is looking for a reliable knife for a good price
If they cut the price about $40-50 i'd feel they would have a real winner.
If priced around $80-90 it would be right in the sweet spot of what i think you get out of the knife.
Shipping
Some of the best and fastest customer service i've had on here!
Brittany from customer service was fast and efficient.
Packaging/appearance
Comes in a quality box with a nice sheath
Came razor sharp out of the box.
I'll start off by saying the packaging is a nice touch.
But you are definitely paying a premium for the marketing and packaging.
Competitiveness
Ultimately, for other knives, i won't be buying dalstrong and will stick to tojiro, yaxell, and shun.
I’ve bought more expensive japanese knives and this is better.
My sister wanted this knife for her birthday as she has a bigger one of the same brand.
