My wife does a lot of boning meat and cutting it up so finding a good boning knife is a challenge.
This is the most badass knife i have ever seen. If you consider yourself a diehard chef (no pun intended) you need this (and other) dalstrong knives in your arsenal.
The handle is ergonomic and feel comfortable during use. The most noticeable difference between this knife and others i have is that it is very thin. It looks cool, it’s just kind of bulky and odd in person.
The presentation from the blade to the handle to the holster it comes with is beautiful. Comes with the beautiful dalstrong packaging and lapel pin. Leather sheath is a big gaudy but seems resilient.

Cons
It’s beautiful but the design balance and indexing are all wrong. The packaging and presentation is well done, but for a serious cook, this is akin to a person who only needs an suv, but buying a fully kitted out jeep.
The grooves in this either need to be soaked in bleach or some sort of disinfectant then brushed after several uses, if not more often. It wants to flop over and cut your fingers off.

The sheath is well made and protects the knife well.
Overall the knife is very well made with a full tang and carbon fiber handle.
The knife slices through the potatoes as opposed to cracking them like lesser quality fat knives.
This knife is unbelievably sharp, so sharp you can literally shave with it.
Price
Great price value and very sharp so be careful!
This is a great choice for the money and happy i saved a few bucks and have an amazing new chef knife.
Do yourself a favor, if you’re thinking about a boning knife, spend the extra $40-$50 for quality.

Packaging/appearance
Of course it also comes with the beautiful dalstrong packaging and lapel pin.
The packaging and the block down to every last detail is top drawer.
Broken handle upon arrival in i damaged shipping box.
Packaging was far above necessary, and the sheath follows suit.
Competitiveness
The only thing to be determined is how well the bdn1 vx will perform compared to the japanese aogomi super steel.
Even compared to different brand boning knives, some less expensive, this knife dulls quicker.
I definitely want to pick up more of the dalstrong quantum series knives.

Firstly it is scary sharp so be careful before using

The curvature of the blade makes getting under the skin and gristle easier as well

Issue for us and it may be because we use it more often is that it doesnt seem to hold its sharpness as well as other knives in this brand
