Easy to use, easy to clean, easy timer, and a surprising bonus, non-stick.
The plastic smell the first couple of times you use it is awful.
If you're wanting to make a huge amount of rice to last several days- then yeah by all means get one that does more than 1-2 cups.

I cook a lot of black rice and notice that the handles and the wall if the cooker is against the wall have fine dots of purple rice water on them

They can be easily cleaned but unless your rice is dark it would be hard to see the accumulation of particles on these places
