Pros & Cons
Pros
I prefer my meats medium well to well done, but don't like them dry like you'd get at a restaurant if you ask for med-well. Great for steak. Best of all, cooks the perfect steak.
The heats up fast and holds temperature good.
Everything about it outshines the wand devices. Reclaims about a half inch of wasted space. Would have preferred it to be a bit deeper.
The plastic bottom of the unit helps keep it much cooler and safe for your countertop. The top is solid and its gasket fits snugly. Inch oval roasting cooling rack 304 stainless steel.
The tub is super easy to clean. The control panel is easy to read and clean.
Cons
It turns out that the power button is very difficult to activate. No fire, lol, but not a cool thng. After 3 months using it, an e3 error code pops up when it is heating.
Highlights
Quality
Unit does an excellent job on thick chops, and steaks.
Unit is compact, easy to use and, very quite, have cooked beef and pork, excellent.
The very first time i ran the dash it gave off a burning plastic smell which took about 2 hours to dissipate.
The power on/off button doesn't seem to do anything, is always illuminated.
Price
It turned out to be a great unit for the price.
This is my first attempt at sous vide and this machine is working well to make inexpensive cuts of meat tender (like more expensive cuts).
I did’t want a water oven (which this is not) for many reasons (mostly the cost) so when i found this sous vide on sale i gave it shot.
I bought this unit on sale and at a price point for sous vides where i expected less than perfection.
Packaging/appearance

I received my unit with a tiny ding at the top of the stainless steel bin, but not bad enough to return it.
Competitiveness
The sous vide supreme is probably put together a little better than this in the body but the lid of this unit is far superior t... Read More
