Long story short:if you plan on hiding the laces on the inside, these are functionally the same as the xpand laces.

Priduct is what we were looking for at a great price.

If you want the laces to show a bit on the sides of the shoes, grab the xpand.

I like how these are significantly cheaper and wider than the main competitor.
I purchased a pair of xpand laces and then a 2 pack of these.

The instruction does say to leave about an inch for wiggle room
