One part was missingthe vent grate ring but the part is not mission critical and i had a spare from my previous hose so no biggie

Tend to have a slot that the window seats into

Yeah part of the hole that hose seats into is partially obscured by the window frame

Which means that either it does not nest properly because a hose is inserted keeping it slightly off kilter and creating an airgap situation or the hose does not install properly
