Pros
Defiant is the fourth and final novel in the skyward series. Overall, skyward is a fast paced action adventure scifi buddy story. Thank you to suzy for doing the entire series the justice it deserves.
Much like the sunlit man, the story rushes forward. This book is so dang angsty and filled with inner turmoil that it is difficult to read sometimes.
There are only a few authors out for me who continue to outshine my expectations. Brandon sanderson is truly a gifted author. In the epilogue sanderson cleverly lays the groundwork for further adventures in this interesting universe.
Acting with honor was also powerfully portrayed. Layers of intrigue and lots of action. Defiant shows that in *, as he really takes these characters on a journey.

Cons
This book is way too dominated by defeats to be enjoyable. Just as no failures lead to the flat and predictable narrative, so does their excess. Spensa's my way or the highway attitude gets super old and just keeps dragging on.

Its not that sanderson cant write women but he either he just didnt write spin well or made her completely annoying on purpose for four whole books
