Upon installation win xp pro only recognized a standard monitor present so the driver disc provided by dell was required once the drivers were installed the dell 2208wfp was properly recognized by the os

Please note this monitor only has vga and dvi input jacks there is no hdmisvideo composite or component so if you are hoping to use it as a tv monitor as well your most likely out of luck unless your audiovideo receiver or cable box provides the necessary outputs which is unlikely

The negative points expressed about this and other dell monitors may be valid however my experience with several of them is that for most normal purposes it does a fine job

I had one die called and talked to the adequate nonamerican tech support who finally did determine that yes it was dead

By comparison i had a hannsg monitor fail it took them 10 days for them to get me an rma number i had to pay to ship it to california and it took another two weeks to get back to me

The mount allows the screen to be raised lowered and tilted easily so the limited vertical viewing angle isnt much of a problem but you can seen the pixels if you look close
