The monitor has good options to configure its display and its physical placement. The menu button has a proximity sensor in it, so it lights up as you move your hand towards it.

I like the matte look, so i find the anti-glare coating works fine for me.

It's a 27in ips panel, so it's going to cost a premium. There is a newer model, but that's an extra $300.

Cons

The full resolution of this monitor (2560x1440) only works with dvi (dual dvi actually) which i haven't seen in any laptop. If you unplug the dell (from the pc), the other monitor will wake up after a minute. Tried it out on three different desktops w... Read More

The anti-glare coating has a sort of sandy texture, it is like translucent sand. Yes, it's true that it is distracting and hard to look at sometimes.

I urge you to stay away from dell monitors until they have a definitive answer. Save your money and skip this one.

I'm incredibly happy i bought this, even if it cost more than i hoped to spend.

I spent a lot of money on this product and it was worth every penny.

There is a newer model, but that's an extra $300 .

The cheapest i've ever seen a brand new one was about $900.

The u2711 came in very good packaging.

I was happy to see that it did come with cables, even a display port cable was included.

It literally took me 10 minutes to unpack from the box, unhook my old monitor and then hook this new one up.

Amazon prime video looks great (obviously noticeably worse than blu ray).

I bought this monitor to have an apple cinema display equivalent that i could share between my macbook pro and windows 7 pc.

The expensive apple answer of the dual link adapter certainly would not have worked any better or at all.

You get so much more than just the lcd panel itself as opposed to some of those korean brands on the market now.
