The windows create recovery disk feature crashed. The problem with the windows installation was not an intentional counterfeit windows installation.

It has the power and memory to load quickly and cleanly.
It comes with absolutely zero bloatware, trial software crud, annoying games, or any other junk you don't want.
I have had zero issues installing any programs or drivers even for an old printer that only had drivers for xp/vista.

Competitiveness
The nvidia sound card gives me great audio--much, much better than i had with my old hp elite.
There are undoubtedly better units out there, but for the cost, the dell xps seemed the best bet for what i needed.
There is really no comparison, huge upgrade all around.
