Pros & Cons
Pros
This grill has an adjustable lid and applies just the right amount of pressure to the bread to cook evenly and melt the cheese. It's great for finish searing sous vide steaks or chops.
It's a really nice appliance, and replaced three for us - the breville panini press that we had forever but was starting to show its age. It's not huge and bulky, so it’s perfect to keep up on any kitchen counter. But, my kitchen is small and i have v... Read More
The only issue we have encountered is that a small amount of grease does have a tendency to splatter from the sides and front of the grill. Once it cools, you can hand wash the plates or throw them in the dishwasher. The grill irons are dishwasher saf... Read More
Clean up is a snap making it worth bypassing the oven or stovetop. It has many functions on them which is very useful in many circumstances. Ithe multi functional nature of this machine is worth it to me.
It heats up quickly and the sear setting does a great job on meats. Preheats waaaaaaaay faster. You can even preheat it while you are getting ready for work.
Cons
One of the griddle plates has scratches, as if something was rubbing against it. The top plate heats up every time you switch on the grill.

I don't use the flat griddle plates, and only care about the panini press function of this machine, and it's magnificent!
Price
Worth the extra cost if you enjoy perfect paninis, and the ability to make two sandwiches at once.
00 off - and it is by far the best indoor grill ever.
I got this prime day on sale - $100.
The price is a little steep, but i think it's worth it.
Competitiveness
I have tried many different brands of portable grills and the de longhi is by far the best one ever!
The competition is the cuisinart (less $) and breville (more $).
