I wish i discovered the delonghipinguino portable air conditioners back when i was renting an apartment that had a fairly large picture window with two tiny rectangular sliding window panels at the bottom far too small to accommodate any size of standard air conditioner

Its powerful and cools the room fairly quickly but it is very noisy

The main problem with the one hose solution is that it does create some negative pressure in the building that is the air its removing creates a slight vacuum with which air from elsewhere in the building or from outside in the form of cracks and crevices every building has will be sucked in

While this is not ideal most of the loudest detractors of this method while having a good basic understanding of what is going on and why this is not ideal i think are overblowing the magnitude of the problem and the amount of air that is actually being expelled
