Pros

Its not just fpm but cpi cuts per inch. I have a 22-580 and unless you have a special prototype, your old burned up 22- 580 was also belt drive.

Cons

Delta has no customer service for their customers, they only have hours when they are not needed, when we are at our normal jobs!

Quality

The three blade cutter does a great job of moving material with little to no snipe leaving a high quality smooth output.

The fit and finish are very nice and there is just enough steel in the right places to make everything feel strong.

It holds from both sides of the head, clamping on a metal bar running top to bottom like a disk break caliper.

I mounted the planer on a custom built table with lockable casters so it is mobile and found vibration to be almost non-existant.

Price

Great product at a very reasonable price.

Bought on-line so cost to do all that was a waste of time.

Blade changes will be a little more expensive but i really like the surface that the three blades leave.

Shipping

Anyway, after checking blade alignment(which was spot on from factory) i sent 20 bf of dalmation wood through the planer.

Not giving a damn about my tools, they tried repeatedly to remove more material to speed things up.

Packaging/appearance

This thing looks great in the shop too!

Competitiveness

It feels substantial for a benchtop and should compete very well with the popular dewalt models.

I would say 90% of chips were picked up with 165cfm shop vac so i imagine a real dust collector would only make it better.
