Pros & Cons

Pros

As with most everything dewalt makes (the bluetooth headset and the 6ah 20v batteries being the exception) this shelving unit is pure awesome. Holds hundreds of pound per shelf easily.

Quality is amazingly good and easy to assemble. The parts go together easily and the quality control of manufacture is obvious. Easy to assemble, sturdy and strong.

Solid and stable would be an understatement. The composite boards are a nice touch over the grated steel shelves. The rack has a wall bracket to keep it from tipping over.

It helps to closely examine the pre-installed u-brackets before installing these. The instructions could be simplified, and the writing much bigger. A couple of well-placed diagrams help.

Cons

Shipping box is not very sturdy and several of the parts were bent. Welds are spotty and the security straps are a joke. The instructions are absolutely terrible and are useless now. No labels on parts to help with assembly.

But i ran into two build issues that i would have given an extra star to avoid1

There are four ubracket caps labelled 34a34 and 34b34 there are supposed to be two of each

Instead i got three 34b34 caps and only one 34a34 cap

Posted by a reviewer on Amazon

Thinking i screwed things up i had to take apart the side i had already built only to find that indeed i had been shorted one 34a34 cap

Posted by a reviewer on Amazon

In the end i made it work by putting the extra 34b34 where 34a34 should have gone but frankly there is no good reason why they needed two different cap styles to begin with

Posted by a reviewer on Amazon

It only increases the chance that they will be fulfilled incorrectly

Compared with the previous nondewalt shelves i built the instructions are way too wordy and complicated
