Pros & Cons

Update Pros and Cons

Pros

Comes with a blade which is nice. Only thing is that i could not locate an allen wrench with the saw to put on the blade. Allen wrench supplied to change the blade is a different size than the hex size on the rip fence.

This one is slimmer, lighter, and much better safety design. Great for making pocket-cuts in hard to access places. Because of its size it's very versatile and is very satisfying to know what it can do.

Battery life is great. Cut 100' of 1 roof decking (ridge vent) and some 2x 6 fascia wood and still had battery life. Cut over a hundred feet of plywood on one charge.

Cons

An ergonomic and practical use disaster. It provides no benefit that isn't already served by existing battery operated circular saws. And it is very ungainly in trying to hold precisely to a cut line.

Quality

Pros: great battery life, cuts well, can get it into tight spots.

Smooth action, cuts good, handles nicely nice brushless motor.

I bought the porter cable blade with this to cut plywood and laminate flooring and it burnt the blade immediately.

Nut to hold cutting guide moves the guide when tightening.

Price

A total of 15 bucks after tax and shipping.

This saw is not cheap but well worth the money.

Shipping

Was shipped out and arrived in record time.

Packaging/appearance

The box that it came in was taped shut as if it was opened by someone and they couldn’t get it closed.

Only complaint is that a dust collection bag was not included in the package.

Would have given it 5 stars if it came with the dust bag.

Competitiveness

Button and safety is well positioned to allow cut upwards or downwards on wall with comfort (something the competition fails miserably at).

Saw is solid and cuts straight and well, much better than the cheap chinese saws of similar size.

I have found dewalt equipment to be more dependable than most others i have used.

Saw is heavier than competition, and length of handle/motor/battery combination may be a factor for use in tight places.

It is in no way a replacement for a fullsized circular saw on a job site

Compared to an offbrand circular saw this thing eats battery fast cuts slow im considering trying another blade though this one feels sharp and has a tendency to kick i might try a finer tooth blade

Posted by a reviewer on Amazon

Still kicks and runs if you dont grab it tight but makes smaller cuts
