Pros & Cons
Pros
This was a no-brainer for me. Over 10 minutes on high setting with good 5 amp battery inside. For best performance use the 5 amp or bigger battery.
Cons
Low setting useless, it’s equivalent to the heat output of a weak hair dryer with barely any air pushing out. On high it can hardly shrink down shrink tube, it has to be 1” or less away from the front. It barely blows any air, the high setting seems w... Read More
It completely drains my batter after about 30 min of use on high. Tried multiple fully charged 20v lithium ion batteries but same result with all. Goes through battery in 5 min.
The gun is incapable of melting a wax candle. But it can melt solder inside solder splices. Back to the butane torch.
This is an absolute disappointment. It's not even comparable to the 40$ wagner and almost completely useless. Just not worth it.
Will not be purchasing tools on amazon again. I think this might be the first 20v dewalt tool that i feel like i wasted my money on. This dewalt product is not worthy of the name dewalt.

I just love yellow line tools they’re nicely designed and never fail on me.
The nozzles are the typical junk that comes with every heatgun.
I feel like a 15amp/hr battery would make this reliable without multiple recharges.
Price
Cheaper plug-in heat guns have much higher airflow & higher temperatures.
Packaging/appearance
I even went the used route and it show up looking practically unused and new still in its original packaging.
The gun got my trucks door unlocked so thankful for it
Competitiveness
Compare to the 120 volts ones the btu is lower but will do the job.
I deal with a lot of icy valves.
