I doubt that i will wear it out but if you need a hammer drill nothing else will do unless you can find a star drill bit at an estate sale and like spending hours with a big hammer

Once the bits carbide tip goes dull its useless and you are just beating your drill up

I ran out and picked this drill up and holes 2 and 3 came out perfect far cleaner than my bludgeoning on hole 1 with the regular drill and took literally 60 seconds total
