Blade Durability
Customers are generally positive about the blade durability of the DEWALT DW872 Multi-Cutter Saw. They mention that the blades last long, are reasonably priced for replacements and the stock blade is better than most. However, a small group of customers have reported issues with the blade not cutting straight after some time.
Metal Cutting Performance
Customers have a generally positive opinion about the metal cutting performance of DEWALT DW872 Multi-Cutter Saw. They appreciate that it cuts metal quickly, cleanly, and accurately with minimal deflection. Some users also mentioned that it leaves no slag behind and the blade lasts long. However, some customers noted that setting up the angles correctly and frequently checking them is necessary for precise cuts.

Mitering Capability
Customers have mixed opinions about the mitering capability of the DEWALT DW872 Multi-Cutter Saw. While some are satisfied with its power and quality, others find it inadequate for making accurate square cuts due to issues with the miter gauge, fence, and clamping system. Some customers have had to make modifications or improvements to these features to achieve better results.
Highlights
Quality
I am very happy with my purchase and the quality of my fabrication has improved.
I purchased my dw872 in 2019 and have used it since for metal fabrication projects (mostly steel tubing and flat bars, some aluminum).
This is a problem again because of the pathetic base, it's not sturdy enough to support saw let alone whatever you have clamped down.
Theres no real good reference line for lining up the pathetically cheap miter guage, so forget about square cuts.
Price
Don’t pay more than $599 with a blade.
I purchased my saw for $599 with a blade.
For the price (well under $500) that i paid i think it was a bargain.
So it made me understand why this one is priced so much higher.
Shipping
Not sure if they are supposed to ship this way, but i noticed someone else had a saw that didn't work on arrival.
Not sure if it was printed poorly when shipped or another problem arose once in ups hands.
First a note: the box arrived somewhat battered and a few days late due to "bar code" issues at ups.
Packaging/appearance
Got a perfect unit in factory box.
A bit of confusion was resolved—it took close reading of the package contents to realize that the $494 version does come with t... Read More
Competitiveness
So naturally i shopped around looking for a cheaper saw that compared while performing the same task.
A saw like this with an abrasive wheel is a painful joke in comparison.
I read online reviews and watched a few youtube videos that compared saws side by side with the dewalt.
All other amazon offerings are blade upgrades.
