Pros & Cons

Pros

The clamping force when putting something in, is easy to get it really snug and tight. Perfect for gripping golf clubs for those who are looking to re-grip their own clubs.

The yost vise is the perfect size for most diy projects. Dual lock swivel mount, a necessity for a vise this big and heavy. Convenient size for workspace.

This is the widest i've ever seen jaws on a vise. The jaws are replaceable, that makes this essentially a lifetime item. They are 8 long, with up to a 7 1/2 opening and 7500 pounds clamping force.

The vice opens about 7. Inches. The anvil is big and flat with a nice fingerprint texture to prevent movement. I keep oil on the cylinder and underneath inside the long screw.

Dewalt seems to have sourced something a step above your typical bargain consumer brand. Dewalt is a name that inspires confidence. This item lives up to that name for quality and craftsmanship.

Cons

These are much more lightweight and cheesy than expected. They are ok on very very lightweight material only, even a 2x4 is too much. Hard to turn, sounded horrible (grinding sound throughout the range of travel) with a tight spot opening and closing....  Read More

Quality

For the money you cannot touch the quality and size of this vise with any other brand.

This vice was much bigger than what i had anticipated which was a pleasant surprise it fits perfect on my bench in the quality is spot-on.

I had to extend my wood jaws/cheeks 2 inches above the top of the vise to make it flush with the 3/4 mdf bench top.

Price

Size is enough for my needs, and the price seems reasonable.

Shipping

Impressive strong sturdy stout saved $40 on amazon versus buying at lowe’s shipping was less than a week.

Competitiveness

This is an excellent bench vise and a worthy addition to anyone's shop.

It is what it is and seems a little better than other almost identical ones for double the price.
