Because emergency situations that require a response from a volunteer corps doesnt happen all that often i didnt want to break the bank to purchase a bunch of high end stuff that is more likely to get lost or ruined by just riding around in the back of my truck then actually being used

A clipboard storage box doesnt have to be fancy but it does need to be functional

This is a nice feature sadly the hinges for the locking clip as well as the backside of the box are plastic and not metal

If this was going to be an everyday item then id say you probably want something more robust like the aluminum versions

The end clip can break if you drop it from 6 feet or so although the rest is still intact

Metal clipboards tend to get bent up and end up with sharp edges with use and i have seen the hinge pin part of clip mechanism work its way out and get caught on things causing an issue
