Pros

It is a bit hard to get the ‘cloudy’ ice out from the base but not terrible. Perfect fit in a whiskey glass as seen in photos. This rests in a hard plastic holder which has all the water.

Cons

Cubes are not clear as advertised and takes too much room in the freezer. I give it as a gift and it did not work.

This combination plastic/silicone/styrofoam mold works exactly as advertised.

Have done this several times now and gotten clear cubes.

The silicone part forms the "cube" at the top of the mold, while the water at the bottom of the mold becomes cloudy "waste ice".

As the ice freezes, impurities and air in the water are forced down into the lower part .
