It’s very sturdy not flimsy at all and locks well in either position popped out or compressed

However if your purchasing this for the clip mechanism it only lasted about a month with daily use before it broke

Large bags of dog food it would only give an easy clip shut if you only did one fold but if you did a couple folds of the top of the bag it wont hold
