Valve stem is too short

It seemed like a good idea at the time and once saved me from having to walk back but somehow the slime releases the bond between the rubber and the stem and they collapse almost like a blowout

Tried to patch it old school but the tube was really thin and the patch allowed for small air leaks and the tire would go flat overnight
