Pros

It works fine and everything was as advertised.

Make sure you attach it securely if your machine will be spinning at high rpms. If the red light on the sender slightly dims then it's the right polarity. Mounted it on my hf 7x10 metal lathe.

This tractor shakes and vibrates like a * in church, but the tach and sensor are going strong after a full season of use. Takes about 4-5 seconds to stabilize when speed is changed.

Works great with my older jet midi lathe. Only complaint is that the provided leads are very short, but it is a custom rig, so adaption is key. Thinking about buying again to install on my drill press.

The digits are bright and aligned straight in the display. Instructions and setup are clear and easy. Some of the pics show it hooked up to two meters and the tach kit.

Cons

Probe has to be mounted 2-3 millimeters away from the magnet. No mounting bracket for magnet sensor. Instructions are very poor.

It uses a magnetic sensor to detect a magnet attached to the shaft spinning past it

You need to tape glue or otherwise affix the small disc magnet to the shaft youre monitoring so make sure you attach it securely if your machine will be spinning at high rpms

I dont know if you could use a stainless steel nonmagnetic strap to attach it and still have the sensor 34see34 the magnet but it wasnt a concern for my usage

Magnet needs to be labeled so you know what side needs to face the pickup
