It is light weight and seems to be fairly sturdy and should last as long if it is not overloaded or mistreated.
Without the control, the motor shakes too much and is annoying to the point that i turn it off soon after starting.
No real instructions are needed as all you do is unplug the device that you want to control, plug the controler into the outlet.

With the speed control can set and keep the motor rpm at a pleasant hum at startup and continue until the blasting is done with no dry spells in medium pickup

I bought this fan speed controller because the 3speed switch on the air king 2034 box fan i had previously ordered does not allow the fan to run as slowly and as quietly as i need
