If you still have issues u might have to enable multimonitor option from your bios setting

It flickers occasionally when you hook up a dp to dvi adapter between the output of the this adapter and the dvi monitor

Maybe it doesnt have enough power to properly run the dp to dvi adapter

There is a micro usb port but no instructions on what this does

Maybe its to provide additional power to the unit in case the display card doesnt provide enough power
