It is a novelty item but it is extremely well made. I am very satisfied with my purchase and love how interactive it can be. I definitely recommend this as a gift for anyone that's into this sort of tech/pc setup stuff.

The speaker comes with a companion app called divoom. Divoom allows users to upload their own pixel art for the speaker. The app is great for someone using the speaker occasionally or casually.

It isn't too much of a distraction. It works well to get their attention when the room starts to get noisy. I'm able to change the little pictures to set the mood.
