Didnt tear my bags or melt them like other reviews stated

There didnt seem to be a special technique to it so others might have received a defective product or they are holding down the sealer for too long in the same spot

It does take 2 aa batteries not included and it will get hot so do not let children play with or handle it at all because it really burned me
