They look a little shinier than traditional cotton ones, but that's fine. They breathe nicely and are easy care cotton. There is a nice sheen based on the added components in the material.

These come with the standard open pockets that you find with minor variations on all slacks. Two additional rectangular pockets with a velcro flap lower on the pants. The pockets are 20%-30% larger than the ones on my off-brand cargo shorts.

These are comfortable and the boys can move around on the tennis court and during boating outings. The only think i don't like is that they go below my knee.

The inseam is too small. The fabric tore (not the seam) right at the * while doing some moderate yard work. The shorts fit great around the waist, but did not cover my above criteria.
