It is easily removable by pulling but is tight enough that it won't fall out. But it's not difficult for this ole lady.
This dongler dangler is fantastic! It works and seems durable. Now i keep the adapter plugged into this cute little dangle.
Dangler helps me keep the other dongle firmly attached to the zipper pull inside my backpack.
Cons
The ad purposely makes it look like you’re getting the lightening jack with the key chain fob. It’s too much trouble and expense to pay shipping to return it.

I would have left it attached to the speakers but that little thing is expensive.
