Pros
A very cool simple invention and easy to create one of your own. Installed in my condo for added protection and am very happy. I feel safer knowing that the doorricade bar is in place.
Parts are aluminum and steel, so there is little if any deterioration. Outstanding quality materials. A bit over-priced, but worth it compared to the other junk being advertised.
Hinges are fairly heavy duty as are the supplied 3 screws. Had to get the hammer and chisel out to make the hinges to fit nice and snug.
It fits across my 36 door perfectly. Attachable plastic wedge closes gap between door and bar. You have to put some interminatate barrier material (ie hand towels) to make the door have constant contact with the bar. The trick is to wait a few days fo... Read More
Cons
One end of the bar is open (without any stopper) for sliding in and out. I am sure none of the four screws on either side caught inner 2x4 framing. I was told that the bolts are installed 1-1/2 from the frame.

Overall the dorricade is a soiled product and the price is good as,well.

The product was packed well and there was no evidence of shipping damage so it appears to have left the company that way.
Packaging/appearance
I like that the mounts are hinged and fold out of the way.
It was not damaged and the packaging was fine but it took much longer to receive than expected.
This lessor depth makes it difficult to get the hinge fa enough into the door frame to catch meat on all four of the predrilled holes.

By securing bar above door with a couple of nails when not in use it will be out of way but within reach as a weapon if you was to open door to wrong person
