This does not appear to be the case, although the plastic they are made from is indeed very sturdy.

Packaging/appearance
Love that it comes in a tin box which is perfect for traveling and storage.
They came in a nice tin container for storage, as well as with a small mexican train set.
They come packaged together in a few shrink-wrapped bricks, each brick having a set of dominoes in order with the pips exposed.
Returned the dented product, reordered and the new tin product came undented and perfect .
