They work well in pumps and open toe designs. They make it so your foot doesn't slide towards the tip of the shoe, because with gravity that tends to happen and toes get squished.

Cons

My feet were in severe pain after a few hours of sitting, intermittent dancing and moving around. Unfortunately i cannot recall that brand and it is not printed on the surface, it has a leopard print. Plastic lasts much longer.
