Display remains on as long as it is plugged in it has a battery slot you can insert but this is just for saving your clock settings and not for running the alarm clock itself it will need to be plugged in to your mains for it to function properly

Was a little concerned about the colour of the leds when i first opened it and switched it on but then i realised there was a plastic sticker over the screen to protect it from scratches once removed the colours all looked fine and none of the leds were malfunctioning
