Pros

It's easy to use and i do recommend it. Much better than sending to the manufacturer, being without the lens for 2-6 weeks, and paying $100 to $200 for a repair. Better built than the typical * silver-toned ones sold for similar prices.

This works amazingly! You need to set the tool across the diameter of the barrel where there is no damage and rotate the vise in and counter clockwise direction until it reforms the barrel. Fifteen minutes of carefully using the tool a filter screws o...  Read More

Used to repair dented filter ring threads on a cannon l lens. I own a used canon zoom lens that came with a dented lens cap ring. Picture shows the straightened 77mm filter with bent filter ring before filter removal.

Cons

The item is actually an adjustable tap. The threads on the tap portion of the tool are not engaging the threads for the filter. The only way around this is to manually align the tool so that the threads of the tap engage the filter threads.
