This is the easiest and cheapest fix and it just worked. Works as advertised. But it definitely works as a * display well.

This dongle worked to trick the laptop into thinking there is an external monitor connected, thus fixing my blank screen issue.

    Needed a dummy plug for the hdmi output to simulate the monitor signal so the remote desktop software i use would work correctly

    Odds are if youre in the market for one of these you know exactly what youre getting but just on the off chance someone is new here this doesnt actually produce a display

    It just tricks your computer into thinking you have a monitor connected to keep your gpu active even when youre not using the machine or to generate additional virtual displays in vr etc
