Pros

He's a skilled lego builder, but it was his second time using an intricate technix build.

The player who defeats the monster gets to describe the kill, something our kids loved adding creativity to.

D&d adventure begins provides the action and excitement of dungeons & dragons in a smart, accessible way. The card based dm is wonderful for beginners, kids, and anyone without a dm. This game is perfect for beginners.

Year olds playing with their parents is better target audience for this game due to its simplicity. Have 3 boys between 8 and 14 and they all love it. My 11 year old loves it. He picked up dungeons and dragons at school with his classmates.

Cons

One of the challenges is to make farting noises. Then you are given a backpack with various bits & bobs, that in the end do not do a thing. I get that oversights happen, but this was just plain lazy.

Gold and loot in general much less satisfying than a d&d veteran would expect. This game has 4 characters/colours, but each of them are the exact same. Only the occasional monster's ability distinguishes them in any functional way.

This game was the perfect compromise as it is easy to set up and play and doesn’t last too long but allows our son to get his fix.

This is the best edition for introducing new and young folk alike, great gameplay and linear story!

If it's tilted, the rod gets stuck (in case younger builders want to play with their flying dragon.

Picked this up on a caprice for $15 bucks - couldn't have been more surprised at how much there is in this game.

I would love to see some expansions for this some day, but the initial campaign has quite a bit of replay value.
