I found a little bit of slipperiness on the fingers immediately after use which i actually like but it dried off within a day and the board still looks hydrated visibly darker and richer

The smell in minimal and whatever residue you may feel is unoffensive and you may even like it

I found the liquid was barely used after one full and liberal fretboard application so i figure if you do this on say three or four guitars twice a year this bottle should still last at least a two or three years
