Pros & Cons
Pros
It cuts well and is easy to refill. Gives the shop drawers, peg board and cabinets a nice retro 70s label feel. Current packaging includes an installed roll of black and an extra roll in the packaging.
The letters are smaller, rounder then this labeler, often cheaper $10 or so, but they work the same. Letters are bigger and sharper.
Cons
The wheel is soft cheap plastic. Pretty cheaply made. If you happen to have any pressure against it, it messes up the label. It just feels janky overall.
Highlights
Quality
It cuts well and is easy to refill.
It busts out the labels and maintains the retro aesthetic.
I’ve purchased 3 of the smaller dymo embossers, which have all broken within a month of use.
I had to make a whole contraption out of toothpicks to hold the tape straight, so it works, but it’s a little disappointing.
Packaging/appearance
The current packaging includes an installed roll of black and an extra roll in the packaging.
The package comes with 1/2”-wide tape, which it’s advertised to work with, but the 1/2” tape just slides around with the extra space.
Competitiveness
I’ve now gotten the more expensive office mate ii model, which has much larger and clearer lettering.

I got a dymo embosser from walmart that does 38 tapes i seen a review of this one that also does 38 tapes as well as 12 i think but a reviewer compared 2 embossers and used 38 tape and this one has bigger letters thats why i bought this one there was a quick learning curve but once i mastered it it was easy the embossing tape is thick and sticks well i originally used it on my pull out husky drawers
