The 15pin is extremely short and cant even reach my motherboard but the description claims that it is intended to reach the power supply

Another the last update ive received the replacement and it does support hd audio less headset jack autosensing this is a part of hdaudio standard which allows you to disable rearpanel audio jack once youve connected headphones into the front panel but i can live with that

The hdaudio jacks dont function mic jack is dead while audioout jack doesnt support hdaudio jackdetection and jackretasking features which allow switching of audio stream from speakers to frontpanel once a headset is plugged into a front panel jack

As the similar behavior was demonstrated by my legacy ac97audio front panel embedded in pc case connected to hdaudioonly audio device of my new motherboard i suspect that this front panel actually supports ac97audio spec rather than hdaudio spec
