Going through this extra resistance dulls down sound and softens it although it does give more useable range to the master volume control with sensitive iems you really cant go much higher than 40 volume on the macbook pro

Ive had this for all of an hour i use my brainwavs b400s as iems at the moment they are low impedancehigh sensitivity and seem to find a hiss on most things ive tested with them
