The instructions / pamphlet says that clearly so it is not advertised to be 100% waterproof (the front pocket).

The packaging on the phone case itself list or states it is not touch screen applicable.
Then she caught a glimpse of her bight blue dry bag i sent her for christmas, it was floating and so she knew that was the surface.

Good quality size only downfall is the buckles clip together vs on each side scrunching the top of the bag

I like the front pocket for easy access but that is not as water proof as the inside of the bag so beware

So if you know you are going to be getting very wet keep your phone inside the large part of the bag
