Pros & Cons
Pros
It retains a wide duffel shape so when you open it, you can easily see everything you packed. The mesh pockets are great on the inside and outside.
First time tightening it. Plenty of buckles to secure to my bike. The buckles and strap are strong enough to hold this weight.
Tough, roomy, and durable. Very good quality (not flimsy) makes a decent backrest too. Their cooler is amazing too.
It's loaded right now for a 2 day kayak trip hammock (2), underquilt, bug net, 12'x10' tarp. Went on a 10 day bike trip. Rode thru a deluge. Bought for a river trip on my paddle board.
Cons
The strap that keeps the bag secure and waterproof is torn off. The buckles are cheap plastic, and one broke the first time i synched down the strap. This one goes in the trash because it's useless if i can't carry the bag and it's no longer waterproo... Read More
My gear was soaked the whole trip. Totally unimpressed.
Highlights
Quality
Quality bag, used it on a week long river kayaking trip.
We need quality waterproof bags to take clothing on and off our boat for regular weekend / short holiday trips.
I have several other earth-pak dry bags with the roll top, and i love them.
Fair value, but this is not the same quality as the high end dry bags.
Packaging/appearance
Came in great packaging and seems very durable so far.
Competitiveness
Earthpak offers a 5year warranty on these particular bags/duffles which is another reason to buy and support this company.
These 50l bags exceed my expectations and have become a trusted piece of my kit - 3000 miles of hard use in the last three weeks.
Used this for 2 weeks at bsa seabase.
