Quality
The product does an excellent job with a good enough preamp.
Though i was not impressed with the audocity software.
I can't say how fancy the sound quality is, it works for me and replaces the line in sound/microphone plug my new computer didn't have.
Quality is better than audio inputs of computer.
Packaging/appearance
Worked perfectly straight out of the box
This worked right out of the package on my imac with no extra software needed.
Competitiveness
I used this with a windows-10 laptop and an old teac tape deck.
All said, it is worth borrowing a pc if you do not have one.

This device is shipped with a 3 disk that not all computers can read however the software on the disk is audacity and can be downloaded absolutely free not free trial from audacitys website
