Pros & Cons
Pros
This chromatic harmonica is well made, the slide works well and the harp is solid. Being able to express in bends and as chromatic is wonderful and expands the vocabulary, and really brings the soulfulness of blues diatonic. Unless i had all the diffe... Read More
The mouthpiece is extremely slick and comfortable. The slide is smooth as silk. The corners of the mouthpiece are quite sharp.
The tone is bright. The tuning is perfect. The reeds are nicely bendable, so i can still get a bluesy feeling.
From the first hole to the twelfth, it is beautiful and easy to play. I'm a woodwind player who was asked to play sondheim's assassins.
I own six hohner chros, from a 270 to a super64x. This is by far the tightest one i've played. The size is ideal for holding it and for the control maneuvers. I'm surprised i'm saying this, but it is as good as my suzuki chromatix 64.
Cons
Both of them have some keys that gave a dull or hissing sound when blown normally. I wonder if other reed will also go bad. Hole number 5 feels to go out of tune when used a couple of times.
Highlights
Quality
It is a bit on the heavy side but that's speaks to the quality materials used in building this instrument.
I am fully satisfied with the purchase of both - forerunner and t10 - 40.
1 hole sound quality very sluggish, 8 thru 12 very difficult to get sound
However this is exactly the quality i was looking for.
Price
The price could not be beat and i never played a valveless before.
The conjurer and this higher price easttop appear identical, except for labeling.
If you can afford the price tag, go with this over the forerunner as it is a valved instrument.
Competitiveness
Compared to similar brands for the money it is a bargain.
Not a toy and not for a novice.
You'll see a lot of reviews mentioning for the price.
