The device already needs to be plugged in so you save so much room having it in the outlet and not on the dresser with a long cord dangling in the way

Cons alexa is heavy so when i had it horizontal it kept falling out of the outlet

If your outlets are older they may have trouble supporting it but that isnt a fault of the product
