Drill pilot holes with a bit the size of or slightly smaller than the unthreaded shank (minor diameter) of the screws. Use a #2 phillips screwdriver to set these screws by hand. Casters work very well.
This shelf is built very well and i've been impressed with it. It works perfectly as a cubby set and case for oversize books. It's the perfect size for displaying toys and materials.
It seems to be very sturdy. It is strong and should hold up for years, even with my kids * on it. They are definitely sturdy, and are made to last for years. The wheels seem strong enough to support a heavy load.
Cons
Assembly is time consuming and frustrating. Just a disgrace that this product is not made in usa. Very sad to see that a wood product couldnt be run off by retirees for cheap to keep product in us.

I don't recommend assembling this without a good quality drill/driver.
It came with the typical scratches from shipping/what have you.

We gave it a 4 out of 5 stars because the first shipment came with a few broken parts and the shipping box was intact.
Packaging/appearance
Easily assembled and everything arrived undamaged (good packaging).
It will be perfect for our baby's room (once we get him out of the cosleeper and make him his own room!

All 3 of the ones we bought have come with complete pre-drilled parts and easy to follow directions.
On one case i actually stripped a couple bolts and had to finish tightening them with a channellock.
