Pros & Cons

Pros

To me, nothing beats beer that is ice chilled. Cooler does brings the temperature down to 37f. There is a quickly enough space in the cooler for air to circulate normally. Just needed to be plugged in and given time to cool to temp set.

The glass shelves have holes in them to allow for circulation. The bottom of the unit has grooves so that wine bottles can be placed there. The unit is very quiet; what i mostly hear is the fan and it is not loud. The top shelf accepts upright 12 oz c...  Read More

Cons

Edgestar is one of three different brand names manufactured by the same company - do your research before you buy. Save yourself time and a headache and go with another brand. Made in china, it’s reasonably priced, but too expensive for less than 2 ye...  Read More

Home depot apparently sells a unit just like this for 1/2 the price. The seller takes no responsibility and simply refers me to edgestar for warranty. Selling faulty units or poor quality products is not an option.

If you fill a shelf completely with beer bottles - the weight is too much and it sags. When the shelves do sag - the cans/bottle tend to slide out the front. It's basically a very expensive beverage closet that slightly chills a soda.

This thing is a pretty hunk of junk. The thing is it is not worth the hassle.

Fan/compressor run constantly so it's probably self destructing. Btw, the kegarator coils freeze up and stop working which causes beer to go bad. Looked in the back to discover a burnt wire connected to the compressor.

Quality

Over all, i'm pleased with the purchase.

As others have mentioned, you cannot load longneck bottles upright with the three shelves installed.

Packaging/appearance

The unit arrived at my home is sturdy packaging with styrofoam on all sides in the box.

Item was delivered banded to a pallet and there was no damage noted, so packaging and handling rate well.

I've seen a question or two about the holes in the shelves and whether they might cause instability of bottles.
