Pros
Great ice maker that is easy to use and is very affordable. Low and behold, it’s back behind my bar, running quietly and making ice again. Love it. Amp; easy to install.
It is a little louder than the more expensive units.
Cons
The problem is the wire bale does not move the full arc. It's supposed to be frost free but the frost build up is a big problem.
The device is still “under warranty” except you have to pay shipping in both directions. The short lifespan negates the economic value of this low-cost unit. Do not purchase the piece of worthless equipment.
Product just stinks. I have no idea if the chips are a health hazard, but i’m not volunteering to be the test subject.
broke after 1. Still did not fix the problem, so i am in communication with what the next step will be. Lasted about 6 months and stopped working. Won't even turn on anymore.

Competitiveness
I would highly recommend any edgestar product.
If i ever have to swap this out i'll probably go with making an icemaker using an ice chest.
Used a different brand and it lasted lasted less than three years.

Ill bet if you dont use a fan you may leave it sit there an hour or longer before it is totally defrosted and you want it totally defrosted because you dont want water seizing up the otherwise moving components of the cube maker

My wife was in icecube maker ptsd from out other reservoir ice cube makers always causing problems and wanted to file a warranty claim thinking this was the same issue
